We're sorry to see you go. Before you proceed, please take a moment to consider the options below — you may find a lighter alternative that better suits your needs.

Before You Delete: Two Alternatives

1. Downgrade to Basic (Free) Membership

If the cost of your premium subscription is the reason you're leaving, you can downgrade to our free Basic tier at any time.

Go to Profile > Membership Information to view your current subscription and cancel your premium plan. Your profile remains active, other members can still view your profile and send you messages, and you retain access to all core Dogshare features. You simply lose access to premium features such as initiating new conversations.

2. Take a Break

Not looking to make new connections right now? Set your profile to Taking a Break and your profile will be hidden from other members. You can still access and use your existing chat conversations as normal.

To activate this: go to Profile > Edit Profile and set your User Status to "Taking a Break."

Please note that setting your profile to Taking a Break does not automatically cancel your premium subscription. If you wish to stop billing, you will need to cancel your subscription separately via Profile > Membership Information.

Permanent Account Deletion

If you would like to proceed with a full account deletion, please be aware of the following before you do so.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Deleting your account will immediately and permanently remove all of your data from the Dogshare platform, including your profile and all personal information, your entire chat history and all messages, all connections and matches, and your membership and subscription records. This data cannot be recovered once deletion has been completed.

Please also note: if you choose to rejoin Dogshare in the future, the one-off $20 onboarding fee will apply again. This fee covers our team's time in reviewing new applications for suitability and applies to all new memberships including returning members.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1 — Delete via your profile
Log in and visit: dogshare.com.au/user-profile/edit-profile

Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you are having difficulty accessing your account, send an email to hello@dogshare.com.au with the subject line "Full and permanent account deletion" and include the email address your account is registered under. Our team will process your deletion request and confirm once completed.

All data is purged from our systems within 60 days of a deletion request being confirmed.
