About McKinnon Reserve

Duncan Mackinnon Reserve provides facilities for anyone enjoy themselves, get fit or simply relax in beautiful, restful surrounds.The regional facility caters for a number of athletics clubs, a netball association, soccer clubs, cricket clubs, football clubs, local and regional schools, outdoor fitness trainers and the general community.The reserve is situated in the triangle of North Road, Murrumbeena Road and Crosbie Road (Murrumbeena) and combines passive recreation with sporting facilities.A brand new state-of-the-art pavilion has been built and is fully accessible and includes change rooms, storage areas, public toilets and control rooms for both athletics and netball. The pavilion provides best practice facilities for the clubs and schools that operate from here, including two magnificent grandstands of 450 seats for viewing athletics events and 100 seats for viewing netball events.The new pavilion features environmentally sensitive design elements including the reuse of stormwater, efficient building materials, energy efficient light fittings and use of natural light and ventilation to further reduce energy use.The Duncan Mackinnon athletics facility is one of the highest quality athletics venues in metropolitan Melbourne. Some of the biggest events held at this track are regional school competitions, with schools travelling from far and wide to use the facility. As well as catering for organised athletics groups, the track is ideal for the general public and casual users for training and recreation.Residents and members of the public also enjoy the 1,200 metre walking track around the outside of the reserve. This pleasant, undulating walking track allows for walkers of all levels to enjoy the facilities and environment available at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve.<h2>Dog leash information</h2>The netball courts, athletics track, car park and playground areas are dog on-leash areas. The oval areas are off-leash.<ul> <li>Glen Eira has designated areas (marked with green off-leash signs) in some parks that are off-leash areas.</li> <li>Dogs must be on-leash at all times outside of your home unless within an off-leash area.</li> <li>Dogs must also be under effective voice control at all times and kept on a leash that does not exceed 1.5 metres in length when within 20 metres of barbeques and picnic areas, children's playgrounds, sporting events, sportsground preparation and organised public meetings.</li></ul><img src="http://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/files/assets/public/image-resources/recreation/dog-leash/duncan_mackinnon_dog_leash_areas.jpg?w=250&amp;h=276" alt="" /><div class="clearfix"><a href="http://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/Places-and-events/Parks/Duncan-Mackinnon-Reserve" target="_blank">Glen Eira Council Information</a></div>
